Welcome Brooke

Hello, my name is Brooke Kunkel and I am the new prevention coordinator at Helping Services in the Decorah office. I grew up in Kieler, Wisconsin which is across the bridge from Dubuque. I spent most of my childhood on a dairy farm, where my sister has taken it over from my dad. My mom and sister also live in the area, along with many relatives. 

I attended school near my hometown at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to pursue Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Health Promotion and a minor in Coaching. I enjoy northeast Iowa and excited to pursue a career here at Helping Services! I look forward to working with the prevention team, as everyone has been helpful and kind to me. I can’t wait to work with the community on opioid and stimulant prevention efforts, and provide communities needed resources to make northeast Iowa healthier and safer.
