Domestic Abuse Resource Center (DARC) Position
- Dating Violence Advocate/Volunteer Coordinator
Seeking a passionate, empathetic and organized individual to provide trauma informed and inclusive crisis intervention direct services to dating violence survivors in the seven counties of northeast Iowa. This position includes assisting Resource Center clients by providing support, advocacy, safety planning, information and outreach to area programs in both emergency and non-emergency settings. Position also includes the recruitment of volunteers and providing presentations to professionals who intersect with survivors. Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS in social work, psychology, nursing, education or related field or experience in the field of volunteerism for social issues and crisis intervention. Full Time Family Educator Position
A Full-Time Family Educator position is open at Helping Services working under grants funded through Early Childhood Iowa and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa. This position is based in Decorah, IA with travel throughout Howard & Winneshiek Counties. We are looking for an individual, who is positive, motivated, and passionate about working with families and their children, birth to three years old. Family Educators must become trained with the Parents as Teachers curriculum, First Aide & CPR and many related trainings. Minimum education required is a BA/BS in one of the following; Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Health Promotion, Education or related field or a two-year degree with commensurate years of experience. INTERNSHIPS
Helping Services is seeking an intern for the 2020 Holiday Lights event. Holiday Lights, now in its 16th season, is the premiere fundraising event for Helping Services for Youth & Families and the largest drive-through holiday display in northeast Iowa hosting over 70 light displays. This internship will work alongside the Director of Community Engagement to execute the Holiday Lights event. Specifically, the internship will be focused on sponsorship relations, volunteer recruitment, digital marketing communication efforts.
