Spring 2021 Luther Interns
Senior field practicum interns experience working at a nonprofit
Helping Services for Youth & Families enjoys the benefits of hosting Luther College interns throughout the year. For the spring intern period, Amrita and Grace join the social services nonprofit until mid-May, each with a different experience.
Read more about them below.

Amrita is learning about Youth Mentoring
I am Amrita Khadka from Nepal, a senior Social Work major at Luther College. I will be interning with Youth Mentoring at Helping Services for Youth & Families for my senior field practicum.
Helping Services is an ideal fit for me because of my interest in working with communities. I am excited to work with Youth Mentoring and the other varieties of programs at Helping Services.
In addition to being an intern here, I will be working as a Resident Assistant in the upperclassmen residence hall at Luther College. I will also be working at Luther College’s Information Desk as a receptionist assistant. In my previous years, I interned at an agency called Child Workers in Nepal as a research assistant.
I want to pursue a career in public health and after graduation, am planning to apply for community outreach worker job positions in a non-profit agency like Helping Services.
Thank you for having me and I look forward to this opportunity.
Grace is learning about non-profit administration
Hi everyone! My name is Grace Weinrich and I am one of the interns at Helping Services this spring. I am a senior at Luther College, majoring in Social Work and minoring in Nordic Studies. I plan to attend graduate school and then begin my career as a social worker.
In my free time, I love to dance and do outdoor activities. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am really looking forward to this experience and learning at Helping Services!
