Giving Tuesday
As you’re perusing your email for all those deals for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, consider being part of #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday kicks off holiday and year end charitable giving. It’s a great way to encourage small acts of kindness and a culture of philanthropy. Here are a few ways you can get involved in #GivingTuesday with us at Helping Services.
- Give Time | Sign up to be a volunteer. Be a role model for a youth, open your door to a victim of domestic violence, stuff some envelopes for a mailing, or provide childcare during a parenting class. We want to work with you to match your skills and passions to a need in the community.
- Give Cash | Make a tax-deductible donation. You might not have time to volunteer so giving of your resources might be a better fit. You can be part of #GivingTuesday by giving online through our secure website. This year many people and groups, including our agency, maneuvered through some tough financial times. Your gift will help us face the funding uncertainties of next year, and keep need services available to children and families in Northeast Iowa.
- Give a Shout Out | Like and share our messages on Facebook or Twitter with your connections. Our mission is all about building safe, healthy, and nurturing communities. You can help further that mission and connect our services to anyone who may need them through your social networks. Post why you support our agencies mission, tweet why you give or volunteer, or simply share something that we’ve shared.
We are grateful for your efforts to get our mission and message out to more and more our neighbors in Northeast Iowa. Of course, if your Tuesday after Thanksgiving is busy, you can give in any of these ways all year. Happy #GivingTuesday!
