Introducing Prevention Intern, Karen

My name is Karen, a non-traditional student at the University of Northern Iowa. I am excited about the opportunity to intern with Helping Services for Youth & Families. As a Cresco native, it is my dream to work within the communities served by Helping Services. I feel that prevention work is important as I am the mother to a wonderful boy, Egan. I believe that prevention work helps to create a healthy environment for our youth to grow in, allowing children to become healthy adults in the future.

When I am not busy with school or working at Kwik Star, I enjoy spending time with my family. My son loves the outdoors, this means that many of my weekends are spent at a campground where we kayak and spend time with family.
