Special COVID-19 Statement

Helping Services for Youth & Families has been continuously watching developments from the CDC and Iowa Department of Public Health and their recommendations to assist in stopping the spread of COVID-19. We are aware in the most recent statement from Governor Kim Reynolds that there have been two cases confirmed in Allamakee County. Our staff leadership and Board of Directors have made a few actions that we will be putting in place starting March 16th:

All large public events will be postponed and look to reschedule at a later date. This includes:

  • Story Time at the Decorah Public Library
  • Friday Fun Night at Arthaus
  • Rock ‘n’ Bowl Youth Mentoring Bowl-A-Thon

In addition, local offices will be closed to the public and staff will be working remotely for now through at least April 13.  Critical services offered at Helping Services will continue but may need to be altered as the situation continues to evolve.  The 24/7 Domestic Abuse Resource Line (1-800-383-2988) will continue to be accessible, and questions about programs can be directed to info@helpingservices.org.
