Examples of Sustaining Gifts

Our mission carries on because of local giving. Each week we are thankful for the businesses and individuals who send a check to keep services available to children and adults in Northeast Iowa. However, planned and sustainable giving are even more beneficial to keeping volunteers and staff out serving victims of violence, connecting youth with mentors, or teaching teens how to handle the pressure of their peers and future. These types of gifts allow us to plan with certainty because specific funds will be coming. If you are looking to support our services for the long-term, consider these types of charitable giving: Planned or Estate Giving | Options like naming us as a beneficiary in your will or arranging a trust agreement. Gift Annuities | Cash or property transferred to us in exchange for a partial tax-deduction and a lifetime of annual income through annuity payments. Appreciated Stock and Securities | Donate appreciated investment assets like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. The IRS provides more details on these types of gifts and the benefits to you.  We recommend talking with your attorney or tax advisor about these options.  You can also contact us to discuss these types of gifts: David Runyon, Executive Director at drunyon@helpingservices.org or 563-387-1720.
