Nothing good happens without a great team, and that certainly applies to the work at Helping Services. Our team of full- and part-time staff, AmeriCorps members, board members, interns, and volunteers works tirelessly to ensure programs are delivered to families and youth who need them. Of course, none of this could happen without you. You are part of this team—when you share a story, extend an event invitation to a neighbor, or make a donation.

Thank you for spending a few minutes reading the Helping Services’ 2016 Annual Report. It highlights some incredible success stories from the past year, and it invites you to look ahead with us to the bright future serving communities throughout Northeast Iowa.
From my desk to your home, thank you.

PASSIONATE PEOPLE FUNDING THE MISSION

In addition to the work of amazing volunteers, it takes many generous individuals and groups to keep services accessible and operating.

75% of the mission is funded by state and federal grants. Local grants and donations, given by people like you, fill the funding gap and allow children and families to get the services they need.

Additional funding information and official IRS Form 990s are available.

I was honored to be asked last fall to join the Board of Directors. While I was aware of some of Helping Services’ contributions to the community, I have learned much in the last few months. I am amazed at the number of lives the organization and staff touch. To be a part of such an organization is humbling. Domestic Abuse Advocacy is the primary service provided in Chickasaw County where I reside. It has been wonderful to be in a position to assist in spreading the word about resources that are available.
