Would you know how to communicate and meet their needs? This training will introduce:

  • Technology, special forms, sign language and interpreters available to help you work with deaf or hard of hearing individuals.
  • Barriers to reporting abuse and know how to help them remove or minimize those barriers.

Help improve the relationship between the Deaf community and the hearing community by attending this training. Together we’ll recognize the stereotypes, misconceptions and myths of the Deaf culture and be better prepared to serve deaf survivors of abuse.

This is a free training put on by the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Resource Center in collaboration with Deaf Iowans Against Abuse and the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

A sign language interpreter will be available.

CEU’s are available for this training.
