Due to retirement, we are seeking an Executive Director with a planned start date of June 1, 2015. Helping Services works to end domestic violence and child abuse; build healthy families, friendships, and relationships; and empower people to stop the future misuse and illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Are you the right one for the job?
Position is based in Decorah with a nine-county service area in Northeast Iowa. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience and ability to maintain and expand broad local, state, and federal public and private support for the agency’s mission, including donor development; strengthen the visibility of the agency’s services; and uphold full fiduciary responsibility. The new Executive Director will engage the Board of Trustees to set strategic direction, and work with staff to develop and deliver projects and programs.
Qualifications include a degree in social work, public health, public administration or allied field with three to five years experience in direct services; five years experience in a lead administrative capacity for varied lines of programming covering multiple locations; and experience working with budgets in excess of $2 million. The right candidate will have a history of active, successful engagement in fund development activities; will have demonstrated experience growing mission-directed programs, and be able to deliver integrated, trauma-informed services that are welcoming, inclusive, strength-based, and hopeful, both internally and through community collaboration.
