SUMMARY:Allamakee Prevention Advisory Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The rising concerns over substance misuse\, problem gambling\, teen pregnancy\, and more led a group of concerned citizens and professionals to start meeting to address these difficult topics. Allamakee Prevention Advisory\, formed in late 2021\, and has a mission to “advocate\, educate\, and provide awareness to positively impact the health and wellness of Allamakee County.”  The group provides valuable feedback on the county culture\, trends\, and concerns while making recommendations on evidence-based practices and strategies to implement across the community. Those who live or work in Allamakee County are encouraged to attend!

DESCRIPTION:It is time for ice cream! \nMentors\, mentees\, family members\, and ya’ all who are interested in Youth Mentoirng\, YOU are invited to Tasty Thursday. \nWho should attend?\n\n\nMentors-It gives you a chance to be with your mentee\, talk to mentoring staff\, or visit with other mentors.\nMentees-YOU can come with your mentor or family members.\nFamily members-Parents and siblings are invited to come and enjoy!\nFolks wanting to become involved- You can ask questions\, visit with mentoring participants\, and have fun!\n\nWhat will happen at a Tasty Thursday event?\n\n\nIt’s ONE hour-You can stay longer\, if you like. You can attend the whole time or just what works for you.\nTasty treats-Thanks to the generosity of Sugar Bowl\, ice cream treats costs are donated. You can get a cone or a dish of ice cream with some toppings for FREE!\nPlay games-Mentoring staff bring board and card games for attendees to play\, if they choose to. It’s always fun to learn a new game or play one that you greatly enjoy!\nVisiting time-You can visit with mentoring staff and with other attendees as much as you wish. It’s great to share ideas!\nEXTRAS-Sometimes mentoring staff will bring books\, gift cards\, or surveys to distribute or be completed. There may be a surprise waiting for YOU!
