Mentoring programs are available in the following counties:

Winneshiek

Be a friend. Become a mentor.

Mentoring Programs are designed for Youth ages 5-16. All mentors are screened.

  • Connecting youth with adults
  • Building friendships
  • Developing healthy relationships
  • Being a role model

Mentoring . . .

  • connects youth with caring adults who can help them aspire, achieve, and develop to their fullest potential.
  • gives youth the opportunity to establish a healthy and appropriate relationship with an adult.
  • provides adults opportunities to do a variety of fun and recreational activities with youth.

Mentors (17 & older)

  • Must be 17 years old or over
  • Able to share 4 to 5 hours per month with a youth
  • Enjoy playing, laughing, and communicating with a youth
  • Believing the value of investing in your community's future
  • Desire to make a difference in a youth's life
  • Families and/or couples are encouraged to be mentors

Mentees (ages 5-16)

  • Wish to spend time with a caring adult
  • Enjoy having fun
  • Like doing a variety of activities in the community

  • My Name is Evan and I live in Decorah with my family. I love swimming, biking, going to sporting events, and having fun. I am 12 years old. I would like either a guy or gal to be my mentor.
  • Hello! This is Kyle. I am 10 years old and live in Calmar. I like acting, soccer, being out in nature, fishing, four wheeling, and walking. I want to get a job and go to acting college when I grow up.
  • Hi! I'm Betty and I'm 9 years old. I want to be a vet when I grow up. I enjoy horseback riding, movies, shopping, painting, and scrapbooking. I live in Harpers Ferry with my family.
  • Hi! This is Karl and I am 5 years old and live in Cresco. I enjoy fishing, building things, swimming, going to movies, and 4-wheeling. When I am older I want to be a farmer. I live with my mom, sisters, and brother. Mom wants me to have a friend who is a caring person.
  • Hi! I'm Tommy and I'm 11 years old. I like playing football, fishing, dirt bike/motorcycle riding, shooting hoops, and bowling. I live in Waukon with my mom.
  • Hello there! This is Carl. I am 5 years old. I like to roller
    skate,swim, fish, go sledding, and ride my bike. I like
    going to the parkand eating pizza. Come play with me.


How Can I Help or Get Involved?
