A major barrier to a victim leaving her abuser is lack of funds to start on her own. The Emergency Housing Fund, operating only off of local donations, provides first-month’s rent or utility deposit to help a survivor start a new life without violence.
Clients apply for these funds and show how they will be able to cover future rent and utilities expenses. This fresh start works and is often all the family needs. In the past, only on rare occasions did a mother need additional help.
Every gift to this fund helps end the violence and change the life of a local victim and children. >See people who have been honored or remembered through a gift to this fund.
Thanksgiving through Christmas 2017 | 5–9 p.m. | Pulpit Rock Campground | Freewill Donation
Helping Services, with hundreds of volunteers, sets up over forty Christmas light displays to transform Pulpit Rock Campground into a magical winter wonderland.
You are invited to drive through the Lights and gaze at glimmering sculptures, tell Mr. Claus your gift wishes, and get in the holiday spirit.
Visiting the Lights is a tradition for many families. Some travel long distances to see this unique display. Some make a night of it, taking in dinner and shopping for gifts before visiting the Lights. Others come just to spend time together.
While we appreciate the efforts of individuals and organizations who show their support and share the mission of our agency, we do not officially endorse any event or organization that fundraises on our behalf. That being said, every donated dollar is thankfully accepted and responsibly used to serve local children, families, and communities.
We are thankful to the creative efforts and generous donations from these fundraisers.
