Family Support

Family Support is made up of two programs, the Family Support Network (FSN) and Community Partnerships for
the Protection of Children (CPPC).

 

What is the Family Support Network?

The Family Support Network supports community members as they join together to create homes and communities that are safe, nurturing, and healthy places for children and adults.

Family Support Network is part of the Allamakee, Howard, & Winneshiek County Councils for Prevent Child Abuse Iowa.

 

What are the educational programs that are available?


1-2-3 Magic

This program helps parents learn a consistent and effective discipline strategy with the 1-2-3 counting method. It gets results by focusing on threee main strategies: Controlling obnoxious behavior, encouraging good behavior, and strengthening

 

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent

The Love and Logic Parent program focuses on utilizing consequences to encourage positive choices by children. Parents are encouraged to provide love and empathy in response to failure, wise use of limits, humor and hope to promote healthy relationships.

 

Care for Kids

Unfortunately, sexual abuse affects our youngest children. Care for Kids is a child sexual abuse prevention program that communicates positive messages about healthy sexuality to young children. This program is offered to preschools and Head Start centers.
