Domestic and Sexual Abuse
Resource Center
- Answer the 24 hour Crisis Line at nights or during the weekends. (The Crisis Line can be routed to your home or cell phone)
- Open your home to provide a temporary place to stay for individuals or families who no longer feel safe in their own homes. (24-48 hrs)
- Transport individuals or families to a safe place, a court appointment, or other transportation needs. (mileage may be reimbursed)
- Respond to a crisis situation; hospital, or police department, to comfort a victim and or their children who have been physically or sexually assaulted.
In-direct volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to:
Donation drives - fundraise, 5 K help in October, office work, organize personal care closet and food pantry, organize inter-office library loan books and DVD's, help sort through donations for the Christmas Giving project for clients and their children.

Time: 4-9:30 pm each day with a break for food - bring your own or step across the street for Magpie!

Counselors, social workers, teachers, clergy, nurses, law enforcement, judges, lawyers and more will benefit from this FREE crime victim counselor training.
You will learn about the dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse, victim advocacy, the legal and court system as it pertains to domestic and sexual abuse, the laws associated with domestic and sexual abuse, diversity of domestic and sexual abuse, crisis counseling, emergency responding and teen dating violence and the impact on children exposed to violence.
