This holiday, give to a family in need

Please note, due to an overwhelming response, we will not be taking any more presents for the 2011 Holiday Season. THANK YOU to the generosity of many, many people. Your gifts will touch many families this year!

Every year, community persons, like yourself, donate gifts to Helping Services' clients that will make a better holiday season for kids and families in crisis.

 

You can have the option of adopting a family or a child. We provide the ages of the family members, if there are girls or boys, and the interests of the child. You simply have the fun of shopping for the family and the satisfaction of bringing joy to a deserving family this holiday.

 

Fareway or Walmart cards are gratefully accepted for families to buy supplies for Christmas dinners.

 

Toy Favorites:

  • Bratz or Barbie dolls
  • DVD's or music CD's
  • board games
  • Spiderman toys
  • trucks or tractors
  • Hotwheels
  • puzzles
  • Legos

Toys are also needed for children under 18 months and for teens (they usually like gift cards bath and body items).

 

Please contact Kristi at the Resource Center at 1-800-383-2988 (in Iowa) or area code 563-382-2989. Kristi will tell you where to bring the NEW, unwrapped toy and our offices can provide a donation receipt that can be used for tax purposes.

 

Gifts must be dropped off by Dec. 15, 2011.

 

What better way is there to share the true meaning of the holidays than a gift to a family who may have nothing this season. Or start a giving tradition with children in your own family so our next generation of youth can learn the importance of giving to others.

 

Please note: only current clients of our domestic and sexual abuse services qualify to receive gifts.
